Nslookup.exe is a tool for testing and troubleshooting
DNS servers.
Example To query for the Chicagotech.net MX record, type the following: Troubleshooting Nslookup.exe1. *** Can't find server name for address w.x.y.z: Timed out Cause: 1. the DNS server cannot be reached. 2. the DNS record has not been updated. 3. the
service is not running on that computer.
Cause: no servers have been defined in the DNS

3. *** Can't find server name for address w.x.y.z: Non-existent domainCause: there is no PTR record for the name server's IP address.
4.*** ns.domain.com can't find child.domain.com.:
Non-existent domain
5. *** Can't list domain child.domain.com.:
Non-existent domain
