Port led is orange  in Cisco switch

Line protocol is down (notconnect)

In most cases, if the port led is orange and show int port # displays "is up, line protocol is down (notconnect)", you have port comfiguration issue. Here are some cases.

Case 1: The port is configured to VLAN 800. However, the NIC is configured to use VLAN 1.

Case 2: The port is configured to connect to another switch and is should use these commands:

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

 switchport mode trunk

If you don't setup to use trunk, it doesn't work.
